Debt management programme to recover from shattered dream

Debt management programme to recover from shattered dream

- Wednesday, 25 March 2009

One Briton has told the Sunday Times of how a debt management plan is helping get her finances back on track following the loss of her dream holiday home.

Maryla Guzinska tells the publication she is now on a debt management programme after her £10,500 deposit for a holiday home was lost when the company entered liquidation.

"I was hoping to buy something that would be an investment and a holiday home," she explains.

However, she was left facing the need for a debt management plan in order to repay the amount put down as a deposit.

The Sunday Times adds that the full price of the property - had it ever been completed - would have been around £42,500.

Debt risks could be particularly great for people who fall foul of a Spanish law the Sunday Times has pointed out to its readers.

The publication explains that the entire Spanish coastline is now nationalised - meaning it is impossible to legally purchase property on the beach.ADNFCR-2300-ID-19091076-ADNFCR
