People with debt problems could save nearly £55 a month through discount vouchers, which could help them manage their finances, reveals new research.

Moneysupermarket Vouchers announced today that over 2.4 million vouchers are redeemed in the UK every day, with the nation saving an average of £2.5 billion every month.

Debt problems could be eased through these savings, freeing up money to be spent elsewhere such as paying a phone or broadband bill.

Sian Harrison, Moneysupermarket's voucher expert, said: "With hundreds of new offers going live every week, canny consumers are set to reap record savings."
She added that the nations "love affair with vouchers shows no signs of abating."

The research also reveals that UK consumers typically search for discounts online as much as six times a week.

Although the trend started as a way to save money during the recession, thousands of retail and food companies are now offering vouchers.

The internet has increasingly been used to shop online but the growth in discount vouchers suggests more and more people are searching for savings, to stretch their disposable income as far as possible and potentially reduce debt problems.ADNFCR-2300-ID-19739152-ADNFCR
