Less people worried about debt problems

Less people worried about debt problems

- Friday, 30 April 2010

At least 65 per cent of people feel positive about their personal finances and are not worried about debt problems.

This figure was discovered through a street poll in Sheffield City Centre on April 29th which shows that most people feel financially secure despite the recession.

Although 35 per cent were dissatisfied with their personal finances, possibly because of debt problems, no one responded that they did not know about the state of their finances.

Among the positive respondents was Brian Thorn, 43, who said: "Things all seem to be fine. I'm careful not to spend more than I can, but as long as I keep working its all fine," suggesting that budgeting is a good way to avoid debt problems."

Students were a bit less positive as they had no money coming in and were worried about joining the job market, but those with no overheads were content with their financial situation.

According to the PayPal UK Online Retail Report, consumers are planning to start spending their money again, with 30 per cent of 18 to 34 year-olds admitting that they treated themselves more now than they did six months ago.ADNFCR-2300-ID-19752206-ADNFCR
