New model proposed to streamline debt advice
New model proposed to streamline debt advice
- Friday, 28 January 2011A new model for streamlining the
debt help available to consumers has been proposed by the British Bankers' Association and Accenture (BBA) today (January 28th).
It issued a report entitled A New Model for Dealing with Personal Debt, which proposes that consumers should be able to obtain simpler
debt solutions, with an increased emphasis on early intervention.
It was also proposed that Brits should be given more information about seeking
debt help before it is too late.
Paul Ross, BBA policy director and co-author of the report, said: "Our vision is to provide a clear and coherent process to help people facing debt difficulties, to intervene early where possible and to provide a simple debt resolution solution if those early attempts do not succeed."
A spokeswoman for Aviva recently stated that the most vulnerable families should take a step back and look at where their money is going, possibly seeking
debt advice.
In this way, they can take control of their
debt problems if they have them.
