New Tesco credit card could help those with debt problems

New Tesco credit card could help those with debt problems

- Monday, 26 July 2010

The Tesco Clubcard Credit Card has introduced a new zero per cent offer on all purchases for 13 months, which could help those living with debt problems.

It is available to all new customers who will also enjoy zero per cent interest on all balance transfers for nine months.

This could provide consumers with a debt solution as they could transfer their financial arrears onto the card in order to pay less interest.

Customers can also collect clubcard points every time they purchase something on the card regardless of where they buy it.

These points can be collected and used for discounts on groceries, days out or even holidays.

David McCreadie, commercial banking director at Tesco bank, said: "By extending our zero per cent purchase offer, our cardholders will benefit from the longest introductory free purchase offer currently available in the UK as well as earning points whenever they use the card."

Using a credit card may also help people avoid getting into debt problems in order to go on holiday.

Moneysupermarket.com recently advised consumers to use a card with a zero per cent interest rate and to spread the cost of a holiday over the year.
