Thinking positive 'helps manage debt'
- Monday, 23 March 2009Thinking positive could help to solve
debt problems for people who still owe money on credit cards.
Financial services provider Nationwide explains that allocating payments "in a positive way" on credit cards can reduce interest charges by as much as £213 over the course of a year.
However, by paying off credit cards in a negative way, lenders could be making it more difficult for borrowers to
manage debt.
Britons who are facing
debt problems could be particularly keen to hear of the difference that can be made by paying off the highest interest-earning part of a credit card bill first.
And, as Nationwide points out, in America work is being done to make it compulsory for lenders to adopt such an approach.
More Britons might currently be looking to clear their debts, as Nationwide recently found out fewer believe the current financial climate is a good time to save than has previously been the case.
