Those with debt problems can make savings on groceries

Those with debt problems can make savings on groceries

- Wednesday, 18 August 2010

People living with debt problems may be able to curtail the increasing prices for groceries by searching for the best deal.

James Walton, chief economist at the Institute of Grocery Distribution, believes that shoppers can plan a trip to the supermarket beforehand and choose the best one to visit in order to find the cheapest prices.

He said: "The chances are you live within 15 minutes drive of three or more different supermarkets, so there are lots of choices you can make before you leave the house to save yourself money and make sure you get the best deal for you."

Once at the supermarket, consumers have thousands of different products from which to choose in order to find the best deals, Mr Walton added.

On August 16th, mysupermarket.com revealed that food prices are increasing with items such as bread rising in price by 18 per cent and tea by 30 per cent.

These price hikes could lead to a larger shopping bill, which may affect those living with debt problems negatively unless they look around for the best deals.
